A Professional Environment Learning music requires more than having qualified
teachers. It requires an environment that is focused on music
education. At the Academy, our students aren't distracted by
televisions, pets, ringing phones, siblings or other
distractions common in a teacher's or student's home. With less
than an hour of lesson time per week, students need to maximize
their lesson time to successfully advance in their music
education. A professional school environment helps students to
focus during the lessons, thereby producing better overall
results.
Motivation An additional benefit of a school environment is that
students are often motivated by seeing and hearing other
students play at the Academy. Hearing music by a peer who plays
at a more advanced level may motivate a student to play better,
or a peer who plays a different musical instrument may encourage
a student to explore different forms of music.
