Come join the fun at Junior Glee Club! Students will learn the fundamentals of synchronized moves and harmony while singing popular songs. Classes provide students with an opportunity to learn good fundamental vocal skills, solo performance, harmonization, sight reading skills, choreography and musicianship. For students interested in auditioning for the Charlotte Glee Club one day, or if you just love to sing, this class is excellent preparation! The Junior Glee Club performs at Academy concerts and in a Spring Concert with the Charlotte Glee Club.

megan magden postle, jgc director

Megan Magden Postle is on the voice and piano faculty at Charlotte Academy of Music, and is the director of our popular Musical Theatre Camp. She graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle, with a degree in Vocal Performance, and additional studies at The Hartt School of Music. Megan recently completed her Masters Degree at UNC Charlotte. Here in Charlotte she is also the Director of Music for Trinity Episcopal School.

As a professional vocalist, Megan has had the pleasure of performing in a variety of musicals and operas. Some of her favorites include The Music Man, Pirates of Penzance, Company, Miss Liberty, and Carmen. Her most favorite roles to date have been Joanna in Sweeney Todd and Maria in West Side Story. With a love of musical theater she has shared since the age of 11, Megan has music directed and accompanied musical theater productions and programs for past 9 years. As a choreographer for the Colchester Community Theatre, Megan choreographed the musical productions of Grease, Annie, Hello Dolly! and Oliver. As a teaching artist with the Hartford Children’s Theatre, Megan taught musical theatre courses as well as voice class (teaching techniques on correct and healthy vocal production), and rehearsed students ranging in age from 11-21 in solo, group and ensemble music for Fame and The Wiz.

Megan believes in a well-rounded musical education that includes the teaching and developing skills in the areas of ear training, sight-reading, repertoire from all musical periods and various genres, improvisation and composition. Her passion is sharing the gift of music!
