A Musical Theatre Experience Like No Other
Whether you’ve been to the Junior Theatre Festival before or hearing about it for the first time, this info is for you — and so is our Interest Meeting on July 19th!
On July 19, 2026 at 3:30 PM, right after our Free Musical Theatre Workshop, we’re hosting a Junior Theatre Festival Interest Meeting, open to all Charlotte area kids and teens ages 10–18. It’s your chance to sit down with us, ask every question you have, and find out if JTF is the right fit for your performer this season.

What Is JTF?
The Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) is one of the most celebrated events in youth musical theatre. Held in Atlanta, Georgia, JTF brings together over 7,000 young performers from across the country for an electric weekend of performance, learning, and community. JTF Atlanta 2027 Brochure
What makes JTF unique is its format. Participating groups perform MTI Junior shows with no sets, no costumes, and no props. That’s intentional. Without the bells and whistles, everything comes down to the performers themselves… their storytelling, their character work, their presence on stage. It’s pure theatre, and it is extraordinary to watch. Our JTF show this year? SHREK Jr and we cannot wait!
CAM and JTF

JTF has become one of the highlights of our year and our students always make us incredibly proud. Last year, we brought home the Excellence in Acting Award, a true honor. It’s a reflection of the incredible work our students put in, and the standard we hold ourselves to as a program. Most programs audition their JTF troupe. We do not. At CAM, we believe great teaching unlocks great performance in every student. Our musical theatre and dance teaching artists work with each performer to build the skills, confidence, and artistry it takes to shine at JTF, no audition required! This January, we’re headed to JTF with a program that’s bolder than ever. Our cast will perform a segment of Shrek Jr. in front of Broadway professionals who will provide expert feedback on their performance. This kind of feedback, from people who work at the highest levels of the industry, is something you simply can’t replicate.
More Than a Show — A Cast That Becomes a Family

Ask any of our JTF alumni what they remember most, and they won’t just tell you about the performance. They’ll tell you about the people. There is something about preparing for something this big together — the rehearsals, the performance, the inside jokes — that creates bonds that last long after the curtain comes down. JTF cast members become more than a company. They become family!
What to Expect at Our Interest Meeting
Our JTF Interest Meeting takes place immediately following the Shrek Jr. workshop on July 19th. It’s open to students and parents, and it’s the best place to get a full picture of what the JTF experience involves.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- What JTF is and what the weekend looks like
- Our rehearsal process and what the commitment looks like this season
- What makes this year’s program our most ambitious yet
- And yes — we’ll be revealing this year’s exclusive cast swag 👀
No pressure, no auditions. Come curious, come with questions, and come ready to get excited about something really special. January. Atlanta. Let’s Go!
