Rock Band Summer Camp Charlotte Academy of Music

Ready to Rock?

We recently spoke with our resident rocker, Robert Bussey, guitar teacher at Charlotte Academy of Music, about his upcoming Rock Band Summer Camp 2018. Check out Robert’s awesome guitar skills on “25 or 6 to 4” (scroll down to fine 24 or 6 to 4 video…INCREDIBLE  solo 1:18 to the end) on the Chicago Rewired website. Robert has some awesome plans in the works for Rock Band Camp! He writes…

“For those of you not familiar with me, I have been a private guitar instructor at CAM since they opened their doors in the Fall of 2008. I still have students who have been with me since those early days. In addition to being a composer / recording artist, I am also the guitarist for Chicago Rewired, a Chicago tribute band that tours throughout the country. I will actually be pausing from a busy summer concert schedule the week of Rock Band camp.

My own band history goes all the way to age 12 when I formed my first band with a couple of my friends and played “Jumping Jack Flash” in a local talent show. My most frequent request back then was not actually a song but “Can you turn down the volume?” My first taste of “stardom” came in the 6th grade when I played and sang Paul McCartney’s “Sally G” to a packed gymnasium at my school’s Spring Festival talent show. The place went nuts and I was called back for an encore in which I kind of made up something up on the spot.

No matter what instrument your child plays, or if they are a vocalist, I would love to have them come join the band. As this year’s coach, I will be helping to facilitate the development of good chemistry where everyone has a role in being a part of something that is bigger than themselves. Good chemistry almost always yields good music and a ton of fun. “

In Rock Band, our campers will form their very own band, learning how to rehearse together, take part in a recording session, and perform a gig together on the last day for family and friends. We hope you’ll join us!
