Audition & Production Information

Audition Day: April 19, 2026

• Scripts will be provided to cast members on audition day.

• The Little Mermaid Jr. is rated G and is suitable for all ages.

• Once Enrolled, cast members will receive a link to sign up for an audition time.

Prefer not to audition?
That’s completely okay! Students who choose not to audition will be cast in the ensemble. We encourage everyone to audition if possible as our process is designed to be relaxed, supportive, and welcoming. Many families tell us it’s one of the most comfortable youth musical theatre audition experiences around.

Audition Songs

Prepare the song cut listed below for the character you are auditioning for. Please have audition songs memorized.

• Ariel – Part of Your World (1:09–2:03)

• Sebastian – Under the Sea (0:08–0:49)

• Flounder or Mersisters – She’s In Love (0:11–0:56)

• Ursula / Flotsam & Jetsam – Poor Unfortunate Souls (0:26–1:10)

• Scuttle – Human Stuff (0:22–0:54)

• Prince Eric – One Step Closer (0:15–1:07)

• Ensemble (Merfolk, Sea Creatures, etc.) – Under the Sea – Bows (0:30–0:54)

All auditions will be sung using the provided karaoke tracks.

Dance Audition (All Cast Members)

• Song: Under the Sea – Bows (0:30–0:54)

• Please come dressed to move (comfortable clothing)

• Wear jazz shoes or sneakers (No bare feet, crocs, or socks)

A short dance combination will be taught on audition day after singing. Familiarity with the song is encouraged.

Callbacks

Everyone who enrolls will be cast in the show. Not everyone will receive a callback. Callbacks simply mean we need to see the cast member again to determine their most ideal role in the show. We will hold callbacks later in the evening on April 22nd. Callback songs do NOT need to be memorized.

A Note for Families

Whether auditioning for a lead role or joining the ensemble, every cast member plays an important part in bringing this magical story to life. Our goal is for students to feel supported, confident, and excited—from auditions all the way to bows!
